Walk SPI

Take your pet for a walk on South Padre Island, Texas, rebuilt in 3D from real map data.

Stroll the beach from Isla Blanca Park to the end of the road. Cross the Queen Isabella Causeway to Port Isabel. Grab a jet ski on the Laguna Madre and stay out past dark for the fireworks. The streets, buildings, businesses and landmarks come from real map data, so the island feels like the one you know.

Things to do

• Hunt for 10 sea turtles from the real Sea Turtle Art Trail. Your finds are saved.
• Race a jet ski around a buoy course on the bay, starting at Lobo Del Mar. Beat your best lap.
• Ride bikes and golf carts from the rental spots or the loaner bikes along Gulf Blvd. Your dog rides along.
• Climb the Port Isabel Lighthouse, all the way up to the gallery.
• Walk out on Clayton's Beach Pier, swim in the Gulf surf, wade in the bay.
• Go inside Whataburger, SPI City Hall (both floors), the Convention Centre, Clayton's, Wanna Wanna, Lobo Del Mar and more.
• Visit the landmarks: the SPI water tower, the Christ of the Fisherman statue, Gravity Park's go-karts and rides, the fire station, and the condo towers at the south end.
• Watch SpaceX Starbase on the southern horizon, with a stacked Starship on the pad.

A living island

• A 30-minute day/night cycle with real sunrises over the Gulf. About 2 minutes after dark, fireworks go up over the bay and off the end of Clayton's pier.
• Weather: clear, cloudy, rain or sea fog.
• Gulls, brown pelicans, dolphins, boats on the bay, beachgoers, traffic that stops at real signals, and ambient sound: surf, wind, gulls, crickets at night.
• Choose your walker and name your dog.
